A bid for a contract totaling about $3 million in required road improvements was approved, according to the Pottstown Mercury.
The road work at West Pothouse Road and Meadow Brook Lane is required before the new Early Learning Center and Elementary School can open for the 2017-2018 school year, the report states.

Bids for the project opened in July but the school district believed they were too expensive, as all came in well over $3 million.
They rebid, and awarded a more affordable contract to Vollers Excavating and Construction, the report states.
