• HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Phoenixville looks to get back to winning football in 2026 with nearly every starter returning (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Phoenixville High's Phantoms football team is gearing up for a big rebound season, with 21 players returning after a tough 3–7 campaign in 2025. Coach Anthony Ciarlello and his veterans say last year's growing pains have them hungry to chase a PAC title and a District 1-5A playoff spot, starting with Friday's opener at Reading.
• Pennsylvania ministry promotes love of nature with journaling curriculum backed by UTO grant (episcopalnewsservice.org) — St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Phoenixville is expanding its Sprout Reach nature ministry with a new bird-focused journaling program called Sproutsiders, funded by a $49,000 United Thank Offering grant. Partnering with Green Valleys Watershed Association, the church will bring nature cameras, STEM-based journaling, and kid-friendly activities to local camps and conservation events in Phoenixville, including Floctoberfest.
