Area Residents Receive Dean's List Honors

The following Phoenixville students can celebrate academic achievements.

Temple University 

Samuel Knaub, a freshman film and media arts major at Temple University, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester.

A graduate of Phoenixville Area High School, he is the son of James Knaub and Kathleen Knaub-Hardy, both of Phoenixville.

Marquette University

Joshua Green of Phoenixville, PA has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Green is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Mount St. Mary’s University

Allison Haslip, from Phoenixville, is among the 522 students who achieved the honor of Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester at Mount St. Mary's University.

Allison, a junior at the Mount, achieved Dean’s List by maintaining a 3.4 or higher grade point average. Allison is the daughter of Ms. Nina Haslip.

Quinnipiac University

The following area residents were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2011 semester at Quinnipiac University:

Annamarie Brown of Phoenixville

Megan Walsh of Phoenixville

To be eligible for Dean’s List status, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis (A through C) to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.

Lycoming College

Megan Bullick, a senior English and French major from Phoenixville, was named to Lycoming College's Dean’s List for the fall semester.

The Dean’s List is issued at the close of each semester in recognition of superior scholarship. Students make the Dean’s List if they complete at least four letter-graded courses and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.

University of Delaware

Several local students have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean’s List for Fall 2011.

Those students include:

Mary Delany, a freshman Arts and Sciences major from Phoenixville.

Jenna Deleone, a senior Education and Human Development major from Phoenixville.

Morgan Frees, a junior Business and Economics major from Phoenixville.

Julie James, a senior Arts and Sciences major from Phoenixville.

Chelsea Johnson, a senior Business and Economics major from Phoenixville.

Daniel Zamojcin, a junior Business and Economics major from Phoenixville.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above for the semester.

University of Scranton

The University of Scranton has announced its Dean’s List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2011 fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean’s List.

The list includes students from the Jesuit University's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. More than 1,420 students were named to the Fall 2011 semester Dean’s List, including the following area residents:

Ashley Croft of Phoenixville is a junior Business Administration major in Scranton's Kania School of Management

Philip Wisler of Phoenixville is a senior International Business major in Scranton's Kania School of Management

Jillian Rifkin of Phoenixville is a freshman Early and Primary Teacher Education major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies

Wake Forest University

The following local residents were among more than 1,800 students from Wake Forest University who made the Fall Dean’s List:

Lock Haven University

Lock Haven University has released the names of students who achieved Dean’s List recognition for the Fall 2011 semester.

The Dean's Honor List, prepared at the end of each semester, recognizes those students who have achieved academic distinction. To qualify for the Dean’s List, the student must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 in 12 hours of letter grades.

Named to the Lock Haven University Fall 2011 Dean’s List is freshman Torin P. Killeen of Phoenixville, studying Political Science/Pre-law.

Gettysburg University

Stephen Kenyon of Phoenixville has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean's Honor List for outstanding academic achievement in Fall 2011.

Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester's work are placed on the College's Dean's Honor List.

Chestnut Hill College

Jesse Daywalt, a Political Science major from Phoenixville, was named to the Dean’s List at Chestnut Hill College for the Fall 2011 semester.

Students are named to the Dean’s List if they have achieved a G.P.A of 3.6 or higher, and will be recognized at Honors Convocation on April 29, 2012 at the College.

Skidmore College

Samantha Savoy, a member of the class of 2012 at Skidmore College, earned term honors for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Thomas and Jacqueline Savoy of Phoenixville.

Term honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.6 from a possible 4.0, for students who have completed 14 credit hours.

Rosemont College

Varsha Yerram, a first-year Biology major and a resident of Phoenixville, was named to the fall 2011 undergraduate Dean’s List at Rosemont College.
