Phoenixville's Tree Inventory on Philly Tree Map

The inventory of Phoenixville's public trees has been added to the Philly Tree Map web-based database; the ecological benefits provided by these trees is over $512,000 per year.

The inventory of Phoenixville's public (street and park) trees has been added to the Philly Tree Map web-based database. The application maps trees and planting sites in the greater Philadelphia area and reports on the ecological and environmental benefits provided by them. A user can click on any individual tree to find out the species, size, and annual eco impact.

Philly Tree Map estimates that the ecological and environmental benefits that are provided by Phoenixville's public trees are valued at over $512,000 per year including $409,000 in energy savings and $68,000 in water savings. Note that these numbers don't include the additional estimated value of $113,000 per year in aesthetic value which also increases property values and makes Phoenixville a pleasant and beautiful place to live.

In the face of shrinking budgets, maintenance of public trees is often one of the first budget items to get cut. The value and benefits provided by the public trees is all too often overlooked.
