Some anectdotes to avoid adding pounds during the summer season of gluttony!

Learn ways to avoid the summer season of gluttony

This time of year is known for vacations, BBQ’s, and getting inside away from the sometime oppressive heat.  A true key to avoiding any additional pounds over the summer is being prepared for your pitfalls.   The key to having fun and not over doing it is to have a clear and concise plan of what, where and when, can help you avoid losing control of your healthy lifestyle plan.  When hosting or attending a backyard BBQ, make sure you prepare plenty of healthy filling vegetables, large green salads and eat the sumptuous fruits that are abundant this time of year.

This can also be the case when you are sitting in the house staying cool or even while you are on vacation. The routine of the day can be disrupted by the rest and relaxation of the summer months.  If your plan is to lay by the pool or hang out at the mall or walk the boards at your favorite beach location, make an action plan and prepare for the unexpected.  Have a goal of getting in your workouts at least 5 days a week, eat a minimum of 4-5 fruits or veggies a day and carry a water bottle with you at all times.  If you make yourself accountable for meeting these goals on a weekly and monthly basis; this kind of preemptive planning can help you avoid the temptations of summer as well as keep you motivated throughout the dog days of summer.
