Hi Friends! We hope you enjoyed your summer and that you all made it out to VegFest. Our dine around summer hiatus is over and we're back with a bang! Join us for another amazing buffet dinner at Chikara from 6:30-8:30 on Tuesday, September 8th! Get your tickets by noon on Tuesday, September 1st.
Buffet Menu:
APPETIZERS (Note: We were all a little...excited...about the sushi and the tempura last year. Please remember that they're making everything fresh for us, and give them time and space (and grace) as they work to give us a wonderful meal.)
Cucumber sushi roll (GF/no spice) - Cool, crisp cucumber in perfectly seasoned sushi rice.
Avocado sushi roll (GF/no spice): Buttery avocado wrapped in delicate sushi rice and nori.
Vegetable sushi roll (GF/no spice): Fresh avocado, cucumber, and carrot in seasoned sushi rice.
Vegetable Gyoza (Low gluten/no spice) – Pan-seared Japanese vegetable dumpling filled with savory vegetables and aromatics. (Small amount of gluten in skin of one of the veggies.)
Miso soup (No spice) – Traditional miso soup with tender tofu, delicate seaweed, and scallions. CONTAINS GLUTEN.
Vegetable Tempura (no spice)- Lightly battered and fried seasonal vegetables—cabbage, carrots, mushrooms—tossed with garlic, ginger, and scallions. CONTAINS GLUTEN
Fried rice (GF/no spice)- Wok-fried rice with peas, carrots, and scallions.
Hibachi Vegetables (GF/no spice): Seasonal vegetables grilled on the hibachi with tamari sauce and garlic
MAIN DISHES
Red Curry Tofu (GF/mild): Thai red curry in creamy coconut milk with golden tofu, pineapple, potatoes, peppers, snap peas, and aromatic basil.
General Tso’s Tofu (GF/mild): Crispy tofu tossed in a sweet sauce with broccoli, dried chilies, garlic, and ginger.
Teriyaki Tofu (GF/No spice): Pan-seared tofu and broccoli tossed in house-made teriyaki sauce
DESSERT
Sticky rice (GF) - Traditional sticky rice, soft and slightly sweet
$35/person includes tax, tip, and water/soda. BYOB.
Refund Policy: We're happy to issue a refund prior to the date by which our RSVP total is due to the restaurant - the day sales end - in this case 9/1. After that, we have committed to pay for that number of meals. Thank you for understanding! :-)
CAREFUL! Re: Tipping GiveButter: Givebutter has changed the look of the purchase process and it's easy to leave an unintended tip amount for Givebutter. On the last page, make sure that the tip amount is correct in the itemized total. If it isn't, look for where the default says that there's a 15% tip and use the down arrows to choose your intended amount.
IMPORTANT: In the event of severe weather, please keep an eye on our FB page, meetup page, your email, and/or the campaign updates. That's how we'll let you know if we have to postpone due to safety concerns. In the event of a postponement, your ticket will automatically be good for the new date. If you have a conflict for the new date, we'll happily issue a refund up until the RSVP deadline for that new date. :-)
