Chesco Driver Falls Asleep, Leading To 3 Vehicle-Crash: Cops

A driver fell asleep at the wheel on Christmas Eve in Chester County, leading to a three-vehicle crash with injuries, police said.

NORTH COVENTRY, PA — A driver fell asleep at the wheel on Christmas Eve in Chester County, leading to a three-vehicle crash with injuries, police said.

The incident occurred on the 1400 block of S. Hanover Street, Route 100, in North Coventry, at around 3:48 p.m., police said.

The driver crossed over the center turn lane and began driving head-on into the southbound traffic, according to authorities.

Two vehicles were struck head-on by the driver, causing serious damage to their cars.

The driver who fell asleep and the driver of one of the other vehicles were both transported to Pottstown Hospital by Friendship Ambulance. The extent of their injuries was not reported by police.
