In this class students will sculpt Plasteline clay into wall relief sculptures or tiles. Bring your illustration, or photos to the first class where we will immediately begin to work on the sculptures. The class will be working in Sculptex Plasteline clay with a concentration on composition and relief techniques. Plasteline clay is non hardening and can be molded over a period of time with no change to consistency. During the development of your sculpture you will guided on the needs and requirements for its molding. At the completion of the class you may want to have your sculpture molded and cast in plaster! Options for this molding will be discussed and the cost associated with each artist sculpture. The key is to develop your understanding of relief sculpting skills for modeling in Plasteline clay to be molded and then cast in plaster, resin or even bronze. Materials list provided. A $20 material fee will be charge for you modeling board and initial 3 lbs of clay.
