Foundations Recognized for PASD Support

The school board honored the PCHF and PCEF on June 21.

The Phoenixville Community Health (PCHF) and Phoenixville Community Education (PCEF) foundations were recognized for their contributions to Phoenixville Area School DIstrict at the June 21 school board meeting.

“It’s been an honor and a pleasure to partner with the [district] these 12, 13, 14 years,” said PCHF CEO Louis Beccaria, whose organization has provided funding for, among other school programs, the TV studio, Operation FOCUS, Chester County Futures, and mental health support and anti-bullying programs.

“It was money well spent, and we look forward to years of continued support,” added Beccaria after receiving a plaque on behalf of the group.

Kelly Connors also received recognition from the board for the efforts of her community education foundation, which made over $150,000 in direct donations to the district.

“This isn’t why we do this job,” said Connors, clutching the plaque. “We do this for the students of this district” and to ensure that get as much as possible out of the eduction its schools provide them, she said.

The PCEF supports programs like robotics club, model UN, environmental club, and others.
