Drawing from a plaster cast offers beginning to intermediate students an opportunity to learn about portrait drawing without the complication of color. Study the structure and proportional divisions of the head and establish the simple shapes of light and shadow. Focusing on isolated features will enhance understanding of their structure and how each relates to the whole. Students can work at their pace and instructor demonstrations will be conducted. Materials list is provided.
