With sub zero nights a lot of gardners will find that there seeds have frozen. I have tried to research the topic to mixed expert opinion. Of course we do not want seeds to freeze, particularly with moisture, but if it happens do not dispair. You will get germination, perhaps reduced. The best (March) test is to count out as many seeds as you can spare and do a germination test in beteeen two damp paper towels. If the percentage is low then you have to purchase fresh seeds.
This basically also tells us that new seeds should come from the large seed houses where one would hope they stored their seeds in safe places. I would not buy seeds on eBay without some skepticism. I believe , until proven otherwise, that you can trust Seedsavers, but be carefull.
