Distillery Donates 825 Gallons Of Hand Sanitizer To Chester Co.

A Pennsylvania distillery has teamed up with Wawa to help bring a massive amount of hand sanitizer to Chester County healthcare workers.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A Pennsylvania distillery has teamed up with Wawa to donate a massive amount of hand sanitizer to Chester County.

Eight Oaks Distillery, based out in Lehigh County, worked with Wawa to produce and donate the santizier, a crucial supply experiencing a nationwide shortage amid the coronavirus outbreak.

"I'm so proud of Chester County as a whole because we think outside of the box, we do things that are creative every single day," Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz said. "And this is just one of those moments, partnering with a distillery and Wawa."

Wawa donated a total of 1,650 half-gallon bottles. The sanitizer from Eight Oaks was then distributed to healthcare workers and first responders around the county working on the front lines of fighting the virus.

All told, 825 gallons were bottled.

Officials touted the importance of public-private partnerships in fighting the virus, saying that cooperation and innovation between all sectors is more important now than ever.
