            From canals to automobiles, the telegraph to cell phones – America has survived through tumultuous periods and thrived due to dramatic improvements in technology that often came at times of severe economic upheaval and political uncertainty.  This lecture focuses on the ways that inventions over the past 125 years have restructured the way we think, speak and interact with others – in ways which their creators never dreamed of.

            Kennett Square resident Gene Pisasale is the author of the recently published historical novel, Abandoned Address: The Secret of Frick’s Lock, set in northern Chester County.
