Opening this April at Valley Forge Christian College is the inspirational story of two women and their escape from darkness, “The Miracle Worker” by William Gibson.
Curtain Call, a VFCC college-approved student club, was created in 2003 by a group of students who felt a need on campus for artistic expression in the theatre arts. Throughout its history, Curtain Call has produced over 15 productions, and sponsored numerous Comedy Improve nights. Curtain Call continues in its original purpose: "To impact our campus and community for God's glory through both secular and Christian theatre."
Curtain Call is especially excited for this year’s spring show! “The Miracle Worker”, by William Gibson, is a dramatization of the true story of Helen Keller and her teacher, Anne Sullivan. Helen Keller, left bind and deaf from scarlet fever as a baby, is a person entrenched in silent darkness. Baffled and distressed, her family was without any idea of how to break through to her. Up for the challenge of reaching Helen is the young and ambitious Anne Sullivan. Lost in her own world of emotional darkness, Anne soon realizes that she needs freedom as much as Helen does. Dramatic, moving, and inspiring, “The Miracle Worker” is a must see for people of all ages. The show will be directed by Professor Kristin Mathias, making this her seventh time directing here at VFCC. The students involved in Curtain Call are both honored and thrilled to have her brilliant and stunning talent for the direction of this spectacular show.
