Facetime Theatre rocks 'Children of Eden' in summer stage
The local theatre program for youth excels in this complex musical by Steven Schwartz, composer of 'Wicked' and 'Pippin'
About 70 students from 4th grade through college are singing and dancing their hearts out in Facetime Theatre’s ”Children of Eden,” running July 16-18 in the Lenfest Theatre at Ursinus College. Many tissues are needed in the audience after the touching performances by these talented youth. Based loosely on the biblical tales of Adam, Eve and Noah, ”Children of Eden” combines a beautiful, complex Steven Schwarz score with heartfelt stories about family struggles, love that brings joy and pain, and letting go.
Remaining performances are Fri. July 17 at 7 pm and Sat. July 18 at 2 pm in the Lenfest Theatre, Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center, Ursinus College, 601 E. Main St., Collegeville, PA, 19426. Enter Ursinus at the West Entrance on 9th Ave. and drive straight into the parking lot for the Kaleidoscope. For more info and tickets, go to www.facetimetheatre.org.
