As Famous Phoenixville Mural Is Repaired, Questions Abound For Its Future
What should one of the towns largest and oldest murals look like? You may have a chance to help decide.

The days of the remnants of the original mural on the corner of Bridge and Main streets, on the side of the Steel City Cafe building, are numbered.
Construction crews began taking parts of the mural down earlier this week, after pieces of the mural fell to the ground on October 3 and concerns that the mural was endangering the integrity of the building were aired.
Large chunks of one of the town’s oldest and largest pieces of public art had been taken down by Wednesday afternoon.

And as the mural the borough knew slowly disappears, residents will are faced with questions regarding the artistic legacy of Phoenixville.
The Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce will host a public meeting addressing the future of the mural on Thursday, November 12 at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be held at the Schuylkill River Heritage Center at The Foundry. It is part of the Phoenixville Cultural Investment Project, a gathering of local leaders working to improve the “artistic streetscape” in the borough.
