Fire Tears Through Phoenixville Home

The early morning fire in Phoenixville left a home uninhabitable.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA - A fire tore through a home in Phoenixville early Wednesday morning, leaving significant damage behind.

Firefighters arrived at the scene on 891 Oxford Avenue at 6:22 a.m., according to the Pottstown Mercury.

The fire was concentrated in the kitchen area, and firefighters were able to bring the flames under control quickly.

However, the damage had already been done: repairs will cost about $175,000, and the structural damage to the home has rendered it uninhabitable.

One man was in the home at the time of the fire, and escaped before officials arrived, the report states.

He is currently staying with his family.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
