Fly Fisherman Rescued From Valley Creek
A fly fisherman was rescued from the water in Valley Forge National Park on Wednesday thanks to the swift work of local first responders.

VALLEY FORGE NATIONAL PARK, PA — A fly fisherman was saved from turbid waters in Valley Creek Wednesday after a rescue operation involving several local first responders.
The incident occurred at around 1:09 p.m. on June 26 between the historic Covered Bridge and Route 23 in the Tredyffrin Township section of the park.
The fisherman fell from a steep embankment into the creek and was unable to get out.

Firefighters set up a rescue rope system down the 25-foot long rocky embankment, and were able to safely haul the victim up, according to a report from the Berwyn Fire Company.
The fisherman was taken to Paoli Hospital by ambulance for treatment, where he is in stable condition.

Valley Forge Road was closed briefly during the incident as the rescue was underway.
All units were cleared from the scene by 2 p.m.
Berwyn was assisted by Berwyn EMS, Valley Forge Park Rangers, Tredyffrin Police, and the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company Fire Police unit on the scene.
