Fox Tests Positive For Rabies In Upper Providence
Authorities are warning local residents to contact the health department if they have had any recent contact with a fox or wild animal.
UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A fox in Upper Providence Township has tested positive for rabies, police said this week, alerting local residents to exercise caution.
The rabid fox was located on the first block of Elisabeth Lane, which is just off Black Rock Road near the Uno Pizzeria and Wawa, not far from the Route 422 junction.
Residents are asked to contact the Montgomery County Office of Public Health if they have had any recent contact with a fox, stray, or other wild animal.

Residents should also contact officials if their pets have had similar contact.
Anyone bitten or scratched by a fox recently, or who may have had saliva exposure to a fox, must seek medical attention, police said.
