It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, so you might be or catching a film, but if you’re looking for more to do around the Phoenixville area, here’s a guide to what’s coming up.
1. Metal Night
Where/When: , Friday Feb. 11, 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: It’s the first metal night at this venue, featuring the bands Rest Your Case, More High and ThrodL. An e-mail regarding the event states the night will include “three bands to rattle the walls (and our skulls).” ‘Nuff said, really.
Pricing: $7, or $8 for BYOB

Where/When: Camphill Village Kimberton Hills, Saturday, Feb. 12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: It’s primetime for scarves, and after attending this workshop, you’ll walk away with one of your own. Don’t expect to sit back and be lectured—you’ll be working hands on with wool and silk to make your creation.
Pricing: $50 in advance, $60 the day of the event

Where/When: 209 Emmett Street in the parish hall behind the shelter, Sunday, Feb. 13, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: For 17 years, this benefit has helped out St. Mary’s Franciscan Shelter in Phoenixville. Come enjoy some food and the company of other helpful folks in the Phoenixville area.
Pricing: $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, children 5 and under are free

Where/When: Under the Gay Street high bridge, Saturday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Why Go: No, there won’t be any sweet corn at the peak of freshness or a ton of just-picked strawberries, but you can still find lots of good food and other treats at the , even in February. Vegetables, fish and meats are the stars of the show.

Where/When: , Saturday, Feb. 13, 12 p.m.
Why Go: Catch the RBS 6 Nations Scotland v. Wales game and more with the local rugby club. They meet when the bar opens at noon to watch the matches. Whether you're a big rugby fan or new to the sport, stop by and grab and drink or some lunch and catch the action.
Pricing: Free (plus cost of food and drinks, if you partake)

Where/When: The Colonial Theatre, Friday, Feb. 11, 8 p.m.
Why Go: This was rescheduled from an earlier date and is presented by Point Entertainment. The Colonial Theatre sums it up best: “It’s not unusual for the words ‘amazing’ and ‘incredible’ to be used when describing his performances. Internationally recognized as a master of both the 6- and 12-string guitar, he is widely known for his innovative finger-picking style, which draws on influences from blues, jazz, and folk music, and his syncopated, polyphonic melodies.”
