Hahnemann Residents Will Transfer To Hospitals In Suburbs
Tower Health's hospitals in Phoenixville, Pottstown, Chestnut Hill, Reading, and Coatesville will take students after Hahnemann's closure.

Hahnemann University Hospital, which recently announced its impending closure, has struck up a deal with Tower Health to accept residents from the school so they can finish out their programs.
Tower Health runs several hospitals in the greater Philadelphia area, including Phoenixville Hospital, Pottstown Hospital, Chestnut Hill Hospital, Reading Hospital, and Brandywine Hospital.
The announcement of the hospital's closure sent up protests and anger from around the medical community, with many concerned that fellows and students at Hahnemann would have nowhere to go.

Tower Health also hopes to hire clinical faculty and professional staff from Hahnemann as they plan to create a new, "combined academic medicine physician practice." Key faculty of students could also be hired by Tower.
Hahnemann was founded in 1848 as Drexel University's teaching hospital.
