High School Basketball: Both Phantoms Teams Land in Districts

The games will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday.

As the PIAA District One AAA district playoffs were announced, both the girls’ team and the boys’ team of Phoenixville found themselves snug in a bracket.

The girls will travel to Villa Joseph Marie in Holland, PA, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. The Lady Phantoms landed an 11 seed, while Villa Joseph Marie holds the six seed.

The ninth-seed boys’ team travels to Upper Merion the following night, Feb. 23, and will take on the eighth-seed Vikings.

If the Lady Phantoms emerge victorious, they’ll take on Springfield Feb. 25. A victory for the boys’ team means a trip to Octorara Feb. 26.

With new head coach Randy Reber taking the reigns in the boys’ program and coach Michele Dunleavy urging her girls on through the season, it’s been a wild ride to the District One playoffs. Check out some of the highlights of this season:
