Historical Society Event To Discuss World War I Service Members From Phoenixville, Spring City

History on Tap: Learn about World War I service members from Phoenixville and Spring City at the upcoming event.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Chester County Historical Society will host a unique event at Molly Maguire's in May discussing the role that local service members played in the first World War.

The "History on Tap" event, part of a series which aims to connect residents to history in a casual setting, will be held on Tuesday, May 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Ryan Conroy, Historian and President of the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area, will lead the event's discussion. The talk will touch on individual soldiers, profile certain regiments, and address the impact the local area had on the war.

This talk will also provide a glimpse into the upcoming exhibit Phoenixville in WWI: A Centennial Remembrance at The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area, opening at 6 p.m. on June 2, organizers said.
