Holiday Swingin'! - A Kat Edmonson Christmas (Vol. 1)

Texan Kat Edmonson brings her charming and unique vocal style to a collection of holiday tunes delivering a Christmas gem.

There is so much to enjoy about this album by Edmonson. It’s not just an old-timey Jazz album with all the usual songs played in the usual ways. But these holiday favorites and staples, truly feel re-imagined all held together with Kat’s very rich and unique vocals. Tons of effortless charm and attitude fall off each words as she sings, truly committed to delivering an experience.

The standout songs here are her takes on “White Christmas,” “The Christmas Blues,” “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm” and “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem.” The fact that she chose the Irving Berlin tune "Happy Holidays" for inclusion here - First introduced in one of my all-time favorite films, Holiday Inn - Really brought a smile to my face and an appreciation for the quality of song choices found here. Her voice could be described as equal parts Peggy Lee, Norah Jones and Eartha Kitt all rolled up into one satisfying confection - A true holiday treat and a very enjoyable listen!
