How The Government Shutdown Impacts Valley Forge
The government shutdown entered its fifth day on Wednesday. Here's how it impacts Valley Forge.

VALLEY FORGE, PA — The partial government shutdown that came as a result over a budgetary stalemate in Washington has extended its reach into Valley Forge.
The park, which is a unit of the National Parks System, is now fully unstaffed, as federal employees will not be patrolling, providing tours or information, or opening the Visitor Center.
Thanks to a partnership with the Encampment Store, however, the Visitor Center will remain open during the shutdown.

The park itself remains open as well, with the National Park Service's caveat that "park visitors should use extreme caution if choosing to enter," as emergency services are not available.
The shutdown began on Saturday, and entered its fifth day on Wednesday. Around the country, more than 800,000 government workers have reportedly been impacted by the shutdown.

It's not yet clear how long the shutdown will last, as President Trump and Congress continue to war over building a wall on the border with Mexico.
