The Phoenixville School Board ended its hunt for a new principal for with the announced hire of Kelley Harmer at a meeting last week.
“It’s just a pleasure to be a part of the Phoenixville (Area) School District,” Harmer told the Daily Local News on May 17. “I’m really excited and it seems like you have a great team here and it seems like a great school district.”
Harmer comes to Schuylkill by way of Octorara Elementary, where he served as principal since 2008. He cut his teeth in education with over 15 years as an elementary school teacher in the Norristown School District, then served as vice principal at East Norriton Middle School before his stint at Octorara.

According to superintendent Alan Fegley, Harmer was chosen from an original pool of 75 applicants that was ultimately winnowed to three finalists.
