Laptop Goes Up In Flames In Phoenixville Home: Report

A laptop suddenly went up in flames in a Phoenixville home on Wednesday, according to a report.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- A laptop computer went up in flames suddenly and unexpectedly in a Phoenixville home on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report.

6ABC reports that Bob Domarasky's laptop burst into flames while sitting on his kitchen countertop.

Domarasky said he instantly threw the computer, a Compaq Presario, into the sink and ran water over it, but the flames continued to burn.

"The flames were high," he told 6ABC. "Plastic was shooting everywhere. I had it all over the walls. The dogs could have been injured if this blanket wasn't here."

HP issued a recall for certain lithium ion batteries last June. Anyone who thinks they may have an issue should call 888- 202-4320.

Domarasky said that HP told him they would pay for all damages incurred by the fire.
