In this class we will working with a live Boston Terrier as the model but you are welcome to sculpt your own pet (from pictures) and use the model for anatomical reference and study. The class will be working in Sculptex Plasteline clay with a concentration on pose, composition and character. Most figurative sculptors work in Plasteline clay, which is non hardening and intended to be molded. During the development of your sculpture you will guided on the needs and requirements for its molding. At the completion of the class you may want to have your sculpture molded and cast in plaster! Options for this molding will be discussed and the cost associated with each artist sculpture. The key is to develop your understanding of animal anatomy and skills for modeling in Plasteline clay to be molded and then cast in plaster, resin or even bronze.
