Man Who Accused Of Trying To Run Over Cop In Chester County Arrested, Police Say

Tyrell Winchester is being charged with attempted murder after attempting to run over a cop, police said.

WILLISTOWN, PA -- Tyrell Winchester, the man accused of attempting to run over a cop, has been arrested, 6 ABC confirms.

Winchester, 28, will be charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related charges, Willistown Police said, after being caught at 19th and Market Streets in Center City.

A manhunt for Winchester began May 20 after Willistown police attempted to pull him over for driving a car that had been reported stole in Lower Merion.

Winchester stopped the car when the cop pulled him over, but then reversed into the officer's vehicle when the cop got out of the car.

He escaped into nearby Ridley Creek State Park, police said, and had last been seen on West Chester Pike near the park.

Winchester posted to his Facebook page the night of the incident denying the charges:

In fact, updates were posted to his Facebook page throughout the manhunt.

He even posted a picture in Center City.

It's not clear if police used social media to track Winchester down.

No officers were injured.
