Man Who Struck Rapps Dam Bridge Turns Himself In

He is charged with felony criminal mischief and risking a catastrophe along with other traffic violations.

Antoine Branham, the New Jersey man who badly damaged the Rapps Dam Bridge with a tractor trailer in April, turned himself into police on Monday.

Branham was only four days on the job on April 29 when his truck tore out most of the historic bridge's support beams.

Branham turned himself in Monday and was arraigned before Judge James V. DeAngelo. He is charged with felony criminal mischief and risking a catastrophe along with other traffic violations. He was released on $100,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 12.

The Rapps Dam Bridge, built in 1866, had recently undergone a $1.5 million renovation. It remains closed.
