March Phoenixville Health Inspections: Stable 12, Penn Diner, Marly's, And More

Why did Stable 12, Marly's, and Penn Diner fail? Plus details on 14 other Phoenixville establishments inspected over the last several weeks.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Chester County Department of Health inspected a total of 16 Phoenixville establishments over the last three weeks, including the time period of Feb. 28 through March 21.

Of those 16 establishments, 13 of them had health violations. Penn Diner led the way with 13 violations, including date labels needed on foods, broken dishwashing machine, foods left without covers in refrigerator, exposed flypaper in kitchen, improper thawing, improperly sanitized slicer, and more.

Penn Diner, along with Stable 12 and Marly's, were deemed to be out of compliance.

Stable 12's violations included storing out of date products (buttermilk), damaged gaskets on the refrigerator, and various areas in need of cleaning.

Marly's, meanwhile, had cigarette butts beside the chest freezer, out of date products in the refrigerator (apple cider and sour cream), uncovered products, and various areas in need of cleaning.

One other inspection of note: The Foodery had its first ever inspection, in anticipation of its scheduled opening between April 1 and April 15. Among the violations was the fact that the floor of the walk-in refrigerator had not yet been finished with concrete and sealed. There are also not yet any self-closing devices on the restroom doors.
