Countless times I have heard people say "I can't meditate." They tell me that they cannot get their brains to stop running around so they give up because they think that they cannot do it properly.
The truth is that there are many different forms of meditation and, while they do involve quieting the mind, some forms of meditations are easier to learn than others. For example, many methods give the mind something to do, enabling you to relax, center yourself and come into a place of stillness. Through these methods, the mind quiets naturally. Just a few examples include meditation through movement, sound, chanting, focused attention and guided journeys.

Often, people find meditating in groups to be easier than meditating alone. Having a guide to lead the meditation is highly beneficial and supportive and, as you entrain to the group energy, you more easily relax and drop into a meditative state.
At Wellness in Harmony, we offer weekly meditation classes. In these classes, you will be gently guided into a meditative state. We practice different forms of meditation each week, giving you the opportunity to learn new forms of meditation and find those that you like best to incorporate into your daily practice. These classes are open to all ages and all levels of experience. The classes are recorded and sent out so you can listen to them whenever you wish.
Wellness in Harmony's meditation classes are held every Monday at noon and Wednesday at 6:30 pm (excluding holidays). Classes are only $5 and walk in's are welcome - just be sure to arrive a few minutes early as the doors will be locked once the meditation class begins to prevent interruptions.
