New Music - Don Henry - Falloween

It’s no surprise that the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter love this time of year – Heck! He wrote a poem about Halloween night when he was 7 years old!

That poem is included here in the liner notes for his latest release called Falloween, and it’s not just a celebration of everything about All Hallows’ Eve, it also celebrates all things Autumn & even tosses in a few other tunes that will resonate with the listener throughout the year.

Friends and family appearing here, such a Kim Richey, Kathy Mattea, Jon Vezner, and Pat Buchanan to name but a few – Plus a nice assist from Molly, Jessie & Dylan Henry, adds a sense of community and fun here that shines through these proceedings. the cover illustrations by Mike Moran also helped to make this gem part of my Halloween décor for 2021… It’s all just that good!

The record includes a couple of covers (“Werewolves of London” & “Munsters TV Theme” which is mashed up with the original “Halloween Night”) done in Don's inimitable style, but the real strength with any release from Don Henry lies within his superb skills as a songwriter. He’s a crafty guy that will entertain you with clever couplets that can sometimes lead to a poignant gut-punch that make most ‘good’ songs ‘great!’ That gift is evidenced here on track like “Garden of the Dead,” “Leaves on the Lawn,” “Time Stands Still,” and “Beautiful Goodbye.” Sublime in their delivery and brilliant in their execution!

Self-produced & distributed by Don through his Falloween Records imprint, it can be a tough record to track down – But thanks to the internet, you should be able to check it out with ease & then get yourself into the mood for the season (as well as year-round enjoyment) for quite a good long while!
