New music for the holiday season (Pt 10)- Daniel Tashian digitals
Uber-successful producer & songwriter enlist some help from family & friends to make the holidays merry and bright!
The other prominent studio producer that makes my “12 Faves of Christmas” this year is Daniel Tashian.
He’s a two-time GRAMMY award winner who is a solid songwriter in his own right. He fell in love with writing holiday music after meeting Christmas music mogul Johnny Marks at age six, has written holiday music for artists like Kacey Musgraves, Tim McGraw, Mindy Smith, Sara Evans, and others. He’s also produced some great records for the likes of Musgraves as well as Tenille Townes and Skyline Motel.
He’s put out a couple of eps over the last few years and on this latest one – It’s a Snow Globe World – he enlists some help from some of the recording artists he has been working with as of late. It’s A Snow Globe World was co-written and produced entirely by Tashian and channels the timeless charm of Christmas classics with an edge. Singer/actor Rita Wilson helps out on the piano-driven “Christmas in the Heart” as the song draws on the warm nostalgia of the holidays. “Christmas Lights” features Karen Elson and hones in on holiday romance. On “Snow Globe World,” Patty Griffin join in on the fun and offers a late-night jazz cocktail feel, while “Santa’s Magic Sleigh” with an assist from Sarah Buxton pivots with a mellow disco melody. Tashian concludes the ep with a rocking solo track called "Party at Rudolph’s.”

Snow Globe is a follow-up to his other holiday-themed ep release – A Tashian Family Christmas – Which he recorded and released using his kids to help sing the songs (sweet!)... The two eps combine to form a wonderful set of music that easily conveys the warmth found in holiday song that can be shared with family… Available on digital platforms only, but definitely worth your time to track down – Here’s a couple of samples of his music:
