On the Agenda: What to Expect at Monday’s Upper Providence Meeting
The Perkiomen Café will be discussed Monday night.

In December, several Oaks residents about the noise level at the Perkiomen Café, and two months later, the topic will come up again at an Upper Providence Township meeting.
The bar hosted live music on Fridays and Saturdays until 1:30 a.m., and residents also voiced complaints on noisy patrons. At , Police Chief Donald Sherid said the township was in a wait-and-see mode, and that response to residents' concerns was a “work in progress.”
Township Manager George Waterman explained to residents that tweaking the noise ordinance might be in order to deal with the problem.

At Monday’s meeting, under the planning and zoning category on the agenda, the supervisors will get a status report on the Perkiomen Café. As of Monday afternoon, the bar’s Web site listed that live bands play from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. every Friday and Saturday night, though no February schedule was posted.
Additionally, tonight the supervisors will recognize long-time township planner Charles Guttenplan. The Toll-Pierson final subdivision plan, for 34 lots on 62 acres of land at 1080 S. Collegeville Rd., may also be tackled by the board. That agenda item had been extended and removed from past agendas.
