Outdoor (& Indoor) Concert Line-Up for our area - Part Two

Well now it's JUNE!

So here are some of the GREAT outdoor concert choices for you to consider (& a few indoors as well!)...

As we said earlier, we are extremely fortunate in this area to have a BUNCH of choices all summer long, so part two of this posting will just deal with the ones that are currently scheduled to take place in June - Here you go:

We start out in the borough itself at the famed Colonial Theatre with two great shows on their calendar - The first is the incredible singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn who will be performing there with the equally brilliant Dar Williams next Thursday, June 8th. This is one that should not be missed folks! Also at Harry Houdini's old hang out will be Jamaican sensation The Legendary Wailers featuring Junior Marvin - A GREAT way to kick off our summer of music!

Another local, not-so-well-kept secret concert event happens just down the road from us in Malvern on Wednesdays once a month. The series is called 'Friends of Summerstage' and their offering for June will be an evening of blues featuring Popa Chubby with Deb Callahan & Norman Taylor on June 21st starting at 6:30 pm at Valley Creek Park (361 Morehall Road in Malvern). This family-friendly event is FREE to one & all! Summerstage should have some food trucks & beverage options on-site for you to enjoy, but you can also bring your own food & drinks along with a picnic blanket or lawn chair while you sit back, relax, mark the middle of the work-week, and enjoy the music of Bluesfest!

Nearby Eagleview also hosts some outdoor events throughout the summer month over there in their Restaurant Row area & has Aaron Goodvin appearing on Tuesday, June 6th with special guest Dylan Zangwill. On June 20th we'll be treated to performances by Sunny War and Bee Taylor... More info on those shows & all of their summer events can be found at eagleviewtowncenter.com

Concerts Under the Stars returns to Upper Merion Township Building Park in nearby King of Prussia for its 37th season this summer & is another great option to consider - June's line-up is OUTSTANDING & starts THIS SUNDAY (June 4th) with the one & only Joan Osborne taking the stage! Strand of Oaks, the rock project from Timothy Showalter comes up from Texas & is slated for Saturday, June 17th - West coast folk-rocker Madison Cunningham appears on Saturday, June 24th - & blues guitarist Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram plays on Tuesday, June 27th... The long-running Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts are back at the Bryn Mawr Gazebo until September, and weekends in June will include singer/songwriter performances by Lucy Kaplanski with Cabin Dogs on June 3rd, Steve Forbert and Bruce Rits Gilbert on June 11th, and Stephen Kellogg on June 25th. These are family-friendly concerts as well and tickets + more info can be found at brynmawrtwilightconcerts.com.
