Phantoms Field Hockey Setting the Tone So Far

The Phantoms team has gotten off to a great start thus far.

Phoenixville 7, Pottsgrove 0:

Much to the delight of head coach John Tornetta, the Lady Phantoms kept their momentum going as they shut out Pottstown in a PAC-10 Frontier division tilt by the score of 7-0.

With the win, the Phantoms improved to (4-0 overall, 3-0 league) having run the table so far in the division.

Sarah Boone swept away two shots on goal en route to the white wash.

Fresh off of her hat trick on Friday, Megan Loughery kept it going as she posted two goals, along with senior captain Chandler DiFebbo and Bailey Quinn who each had two tallies as well.

The Phantoms are one of three teams still unbeaten in the Pioneer Athletic Conference as they prepare to take on Pottstown in Wednesday in a league match up before playing Fox Chapel on Friday in a non-league scrap.

PAC-10 Boys' Soccer

Phantoms 5, Trojans 2

 Phoenixville improved to 2-1 in league play on Monday night as they defeated Pottstown, 5-2, in a Pioneer Athletic Conference game at Washington Field.

Jeff Potts and James Riggins posted first half goals as the Phantoms built a 2-1 edge prior to the break.

Phoenixville extended the its lead to 3-1 as the second half got underway, when Riggins posted his second tally of the game, third of the season on a great feed from Potts.

The scoring sheet was closed out by Matt Hackman, who will soon be hitting the ice for the Phantoms ice hockey squad, when he redirected a shot into the Trojans net. The loss dropped Pottstown to 1-2, 0-1 in league play.
