The next meeting of the Phoenix Book Club will be Monday, May 4 at 7:00 PM at Phoenixville Public Library. The book discussed will be “Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea” by Barbara Demick. The award-winning book follows the lives of six North Koreans over fifteen years, a chaotic period that saw the rise to power of Kim Jong Il and the devastation of a famine that killed one-fifth of the population, illustrating what it means to live under the most repressive totalitarian regime today.
A copy of the book may be reserved at the Library or online at www.ccls.org. The public is invited to attend. For further information, call 610-933-3013 x132 or e-mail mpinto@ccls.org. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
