Phoenixville Area Resident Becomes One of PA's Youngest County Officials
Rick Loughery garnered the Recorder of Deeds spot in Tuesday's municipal election.

One of Chester County's new elected officials has strong Phoenixville ties.
Rick Loughery won the position of Recorder of Deeds during Tuesday's municipal election, with 58 percent of the vote. Loughery formerly served on the Schuylkill Township board of auditors and he was born, raised and still lives in the Phoenixville area.
At 27, Loughery is one of the youngest county officials in the Commonwealth, and he's the youngest Recorder of Deeds in the state.

"As the Republican nominee, Loughery campaigned for the office on a platform to enhance the security of public data and personal information, reduce costs through technological advancements and e-recording," according to a press release. "He also vowed to maintain the office’s reputation for high-quality service and its landmark 24-hour recording process, and improve customer service by adopting credit card transactions."
Following the win, Loughery said he's humbled by the victory and ready to get working.

In addition to his former service on the board of auditors, Loughery is active in the Phoenixville area and works with local community groups, political groups and non-profit organizations in and around Phoenixville.
