Phoenixville Fire Department Cites Low Donation Rate

Only 13 percent of Phoenixville residents donated last year to the Phoenixville Fire Department’s annual fund drive, they said in a recent Facebook release.

And, as they pointed out: “We show up 100% of the time.”

The department’s annual fund drive is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year:

While we do receive tax monies from the Borough of Phoenixville and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, your Fire Department is ṉoṭ fully taxpayer funded. Donations are needed to maintain our operation. Donated funds are primarily used to help pay for our career firefighters on-duty daily from 6 AM to 11 PM. Career and volunteer firefighters work together to respond to emergencies in Phoenixville and surrounding areas.
