Phoenixville Firefighter Honored For 50 Years Of Service
Few have given as selflessly as Phoenixville's David B. Meadows.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A Phoenixville firefighter and longtime public servant has been honored for half of century of dedication to the public good.
David B. Meadows was recognized during a recent Phoenixville Fire Department member's meeting, with several borough, county, and regional leaders in attendance.
"Today, the milestone of reaching 50 years of active service as a volunteer firefighter is rare," the fire department said in a statement. "We were glad to have the honor to mark this occasion with Dave and his family. Dave is a tremendous asset to our organization and we appreciate his dedication. We hope Dave will continue volunteering his time for years to come."

Meadows first joined Phoenix Hose, Hook & Ladder Company in Aug. 1971 when he was just 20, the department said. He then went on to serve as a volunteer firefighter and driver through present day, also serving as president from 1982 to 1986 and 2001 to 2016. Other title included assistant fire chief, chief engineer, Vice President, and more.
