Phoenixville To Hold Groundbreaking For New Schools
The district recently announced plans to construct a new early learning center and a new elementary school.

A new elementary school and early learning center at Phoenixville are now one step closer to fruition.
A groundbreaking ceremony for both buildings has been scheduled for Monday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m.
The ceremony will occur at the site of the future shared building, which will be directly behind the middle school.

All members of the public are invited to attend the event.
The approval for the new buildings was announced after the Phoenixville Area School District reached an agreement with local landowners and groups at a meeting in early September

The Board of Directors said that they reached three agreements needed to go ahead with construction on the Early Learning Center and elementary school:
- Settlement agreement with Meadow Brook Golf Club of Phoenixville, Inc.
- Approval of an Easement Agreement with Pickering Glen Homeowners Association
- Approval of an Easement Agreement with Raymond Levin & James Levin
“The District appreciates the support and enthusiasm parents and community members have shown for this much-needed new building,” the school district said in a press release. “The benefits for the student learning and expanded opportunities are exciting for the entire District.”
Two new turf fields will also be approved.
The project is slated to be completed by the start of the 2017-2018 school year. Construction will begin by the end of September.
The contracts were awarded to the following companies:
- Boro Developers, Inc. dba Boro Construction as the General Contractor
- The Fairfield Company as the Mechanical Contractor
- Brandon Stanton, Inc dba BSI Electrical Contractors
- Myco Mechanical Inc. as the Plumbing Contractor
