Phoenixville Man Arrested For Selling Heroin To Man That Died From Overdose, Report Says

The victim was found with a hypodermic needle at his feet and several text messages with "Mike" were found on his phone.

A Phoenixville man has been arrested for allegedly selling heroin to a man that died from an overdoes soon thereafter, according to The Pottstown Mercury.

Michael J. Rogers, 44, allegedly sold the heroin to the victim sometime on Monday evening, and he died of cardiac arrest at about 10:40 p.m. that evening in a home on Marshall Street, the report states.

The victim was found with a hypodermic needle at his feet and investigators were led back to Rogers by a search of the victim’s cell phone, according to the report.

When confronted, Rogers eventually admitted that he sold the man 12 bags of unstamped blue bags of heroin on August 17, the report states.

His hearing will be September 2.
