Phoenixville Police Department Discusses Regionalization

Borough officials are looking to grow the Phoenixville Police Department, and regionalization is something they have considered.

At a recent Borough Council meeting, representatives discussed combining the police force with that of other local communities.

However, the idea is unpopular.

A feasibility study will investigate the practicality of the idea, council officials said.

Councilman Michael Kuznar recently pitched the idea at a Phoenixville Regional Planning meeting and apparently there was not very much support.

The Regional Planning meeting includes West Vincent, East Pikeland, Schuylkill, and Charlestown townships, along with Phoenixville.
