Phoenixville Police Looking For Volunteers To Get Drunk For Free
They say it's not a trick.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Phoenixville Police Department put out a call this week for volunteers to get drunk for free in order to help teach new officers proper procedures for field sobriety tests.
The "wet lab" classes will be held May 5 through May 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The alcohol and snacks will be provided free of charge, and all attendees must have an adult pick them up afterwards.

Volunteers will be tested prior to arrival, so they cannot drink before they come to the class.
Attendees will then be tested routinely as they progress so they reach the desired inebriation level.

"This is not an April Fool’s Joke," the neighboring Schuylkill Township Police Department shared. "The best way for officers to learn how to conduct roadside sobriety tests is with actual intoxicated subjects."
Interested individuals should contact Officer Matthew Fusco at Mfusco@phoenixville.org and complete the class enrollment form here.
