Phoenixville Police Release Statistics For September

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- What kinds of crimes and reports were most common in the borough in September?

The Phoenixville Police Department and the Chester County Department of Emergency Services have released statistics detailing the most common emergency calls.

Traffic stops and phone calls from residents comprised the most frequent responses of the department.

Suspicious activity, domestic issues, fire-related calls, and disturbing the peace were the next most frequent incidents.

Using a database comprised of crime data and statistics from the FBI, U.S. Justice Department, and more than 17,000 local law enforcement agencies, an online research service called Neighborhood Scout scores the Phoenixville area scores a 44 out of 100 on the crime index, with 100 being the safest.

Data shows that there are about 36 violent crimes and 284 property crimes committed annually, although the violent crime crime rate of 218 per 1,000 residents is below the Pennsylvania average of 3.35.
