Phoenixville Prepares to honor Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Embrace the Spirit of Unity during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week! This annual initiative brings people from all walks of life together nationwide to shed light on the pressing issues of hunger and homelessness. Our community is rising to the occasion, with over 10 local non-profits and numerous businesses joining forces to spotlight FOOD INSECURITY and HOMELESSNESS right here in our midst.
We invite you to stand with these dedicated groups throughout the week, as they organize an array of educational, service, fundraising, and advocacy events. Mark your calendars for the following activities:
November 11th

• Orion Communities is hosting a Drive Thru Donation Drop-off: Join us at the Phoenixville YMCA (400 E. Pothouse Rd.) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donate coats, hats, scarves, gloves, new socks, and blankets to provide warmth for your neighbor. Learn more
• St. Mary’s Shelter BBQ and Brews Fundraiser: Head to the Kimberton Firehouse from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are just $50 for a night of live music, delicious food, and fun. Get your tickets

November 17th

• Sleep Out Event for Hunger and Homelessness: Starting at 6 p.m. at Open Hearth (701 S. Main St. Phoenixville), come together for a powerful evening in solidarity with those experiencing hunger and homelessness. Find more information and register

November 18th

• Poverty Simulation: From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Renaissance Academy (431 Fairview St.), experience a Poverty Simulation and gain valuable insights. Register here
• PACS Scout for Hunger Day: Drop off non-perishable food donations at 101 Buchanan Street Phoenixville and learn more about how you can contribute or volunteer at www.pacsphx.org.

We'd like to extend our gratitude to Kimberton Whole Foods in Phoenixville for their "Round Up at the Register" initiative during the month of November, benefiting PACS, and to Sedona Taphouse in Phoenixville for hosting "Dine Out for Charity" every Monday this November.
