Phoenixville Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday

Happy Birthday!

Zabelle Nedurian Zartarian was born on August 24, 1916. She was the first of four children. Zabelle received her RN from Lankenau Hospital. She was adventurous and traveled with friends by bus to Florida, California and New York to work as a nurse.

In 1941 she married Paul Zartarian and they have three children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Paul passed away in 2004. Zabelle helped with Sunday school for nearly 50 years of her life. She enjoyed playing bridge until she was 98 years old and won a spelling bee while she was in her 90’s.

She exercised every morning until just a few years ago and has always loved to sing and dance. To this day, Mrs. Zartarian (or Mrs. Z as friends call her) is always upbeat and content. She is now living at Atria Woodbridge Place in Phoenixville, PA where she receives assisted living services. There she continues to bless everyone who comes her way with a big smile and warm greeting.

The employees, friends, family and the residents of Atria Woodbridge Place gathered together for a Wizard of Oz themes birthday party. That being her favorite movie, there were “Over the Rainbow” decorations, a few employees dressed as Glenda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West, and the movie played in the in-house movie theater for everyone to enjoy. It was a fun day for everyone and we can’t wait to celebrate her life again next year.
