Phoenixville Schools Get $100k From Johnson And Johnson, Despite Massive Cutbacks

Johnson and Johnson announced a huge series of layoffs on Tuesday. But that's not stopping them from working with Phoenixille schools.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Just days before announcing massive layoffs at branches around the country, Johnson and Johnson committed to a partnership with the Phoenixville Area School District to help give students a head-start on their future careers.

The “Bridge to Employment” program is a partnership between the school, Montgomery County Community College and Johnson and Johnson by introducing them to health care careers and providing enhanced academic and work experiences, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

Johnson and Johnson announced that their layoffs of about 3,000 workers will save them between $800 million and $1 billion annually.
