Phoenixville Tree Lighting Set For First Friday

A special holiday edition of First Friday is coming to town this week. Details on road closures and more:

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A special holiday edition of First Friday is coming to Phoenixville this week as the borough prepares for its annual tree lighting celebration.

The event will take place on Dec. 3 beginning at around 6 p.m. on the 100 block of Bridge Street.

The evening's vendor market will kick things off, with live music, visits from holiday characters, and a special appearance from Santa Claus.

Mayor Pete Urscheler will join the festivities for a Santa Stroll at 6:45 p.m., and that will be followed immediately afterward at 7 p.m. by the tree lighting. The tree is located in the parking lot at Main and Bridge streets.

Several road closures will be in place for the day. Starting at 2 p.m., Bridge Street will be shut down from Gay to Main streets, and from Main to Star streets. The closure will remain in place until 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Main will also be closed between Bridge and Church streets from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the tree lighting.
